Greetings friends!
Welcome to the Young Voices Blog Page. This is the part of our Arts Council website for you, where you can post your thoughts, opinions, ideas…you get the picture. This is the place where you can really let your creativity soar and where you don’t have to feel judged or disheartened in any way. If you have stories, poetry, artwork, or just feel the need to speak your mind, this is your resource to do so. Honestly this is my first blog entry…I’m totally a novice. I guess I’ll start by explaining a bit about the things we’d like to see happen with all of you out there and the Arts Council! We’d love to do a battle of the bands. There are so many great garage bands and jam bands out there that don’t always get the respect or the proper venues that they deserve. The arts council would like to set up venues within Wyoming County where musicians can go and play a few sets in a different location every week or month, and challenge one another to a good ol’ fashioned duel-minus the blood, violence, and pillaging. We’re a peaceful bunch.
We’ve got the student art exhibits coming up as well, and we’d like to involve some student musicians and jam bands with these as well. The elementary exhibit open on February 20th and the High School exhibit is Saturday, March 24th-both from 5pm-8:30pm. Let us know if you’ve got any ideas!
I’ll keep adding more events and programs as they come up, and let me know if you anyone out there has some ideas for programs they’d like to see, or ways that the Arts Council can help. It’s a wonderworld out there, it really is. And right now we’re seeing a lot of changes being made…there’s never been a better or more important time to stay in touch with our creativity and to really nurture that part of us. It will help us reach higher than we know we can.
There now, it’s your turn
(Admin. note: For now everything beyond this part of the page needs to be done as a comment. Sorry/Thanks)
I can do a set with my group for the high school exhibit.

Hi to all,
I wanted to mention our Elementary Student Art exhibit which is opening this Friday, Feb 20th at 5pm. It should be a lot of fun, like this much fun (shown in scale);

*which in miles would stretch from here to Guam.
We’ll be having live entertainment, activities and games, and some fruit punch
…you like fruit punch don’t you?! :0 Well alright.
Also, chances are you have artwork in the exhibit and we’d love for you to come and see it on display.
So please come, show up, bring friends, bring family! Everyone is welcome!

Hi everyone,
The weather outside was frightful on the 20th of February, but be that as it may, there was still a nice turnout of folks for the elementary school exhibit. It was a big siccess despite the snow and wind-one that saw families supporting one another and creating artwork on site as well. Special thanks to Shar and her sister who baked some great mini cupcakes which were a huge hit. And I apologize to those who were brave enough to taste the awful fruit punch I made…there is just no excuse for such a horrible potion. It was sugar free…I blame the Splenda :0!
At any rate….for those who missed the show-it is up for 2 weeks! Come stop by-take advantage of this lovely thaw we are having!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Later Days
